A few years ago, I sent the following email to Jay Abraham
- which he ended up running in one of his newsletters. Have
a look at this, then read my update below:

“No More Jay Abraham!”
as stated by Hailey White
(2 years old at the time)

December 2002 in LA was one of the defining moments in my
life. Over the period of 3 information packed days my
thoughts on business and success dramatically. When I got
home I looked at the thousands of pages of information I had
to read, 80 hours + in audio tapes to listen to my year was
filling up!
So… every chance I had to listen to the tapes I did.
Until last week….
I have twin 2 year old girls and they were on the fast track
to be the youngest Jay Abraham Protégés ever ! They
listened to the tapes every time they were in the car with
me… and for the most part they seemed to quite enjoy it!
I though I was a genius… raising marketing masterminds from
birth! By the time they were 12 years old I would be able
to retire on their consulting contracts. This was sounding
great!
My dreams were dashed the other day when I was putting in
another tape while the girls were in the car. As the tape
started there was a huge outburst from the back …. “NO more
Jay Abraham!” Hailey screamed. I thought she was kidding,
I mean how could she be getting tired of her education
already?
Well, sorry to say… they no longer let me play the Jay
Abraham tapes when they are in the car. I get the same,
very rude, outburst whenever I try them on the tapes.
My bubble has temporarily burst for the youngest protégés
ever.
I am going to try again when they turn 3.
Thanks again Jay, the training is excellent !

FAST FORWARD TO MAY 2006
(now they are 5 yrs old)

Just last week, I was putting together a small mailout to
some of my clients. Being a smaller mailout, we were doing
it all ourselves without using a mailhouse.
One night after dinner I started putting stamps and labels
on the new postcards I had designed and was rolling out to
test.
All of a sudden I hear "can we help, can we help?"
My twin daughters, Katrina and Hailey, thought it looked fun
- after all, they ARE stickers I was putting on and they
LOVE stickers.
So, I gave them a stack of postcards, labels, and stamps -
some simple instructions - and watched as my new assembly
line got to work.
I WAS SO PROUD!
Not only were my kids taking an interest in direct
marketing, they were also reconfirming my Jay Abraham
training I did with them when they were 2 yrs old!
(side note: if you received one of these postcards and the
stamps were upside down - now you know why)
This is all paying off!
A few months ago I asked them what they were going to do
with all the money in their piggy banks.
A tear came to my eye as Katrina said...
"we are going to open a lemonade stand and
make MORE money!"
Yipppeeeeeeeeee... it was one of the greatest things I've
ever heard.
All my audios in the car, marketing books I read to them at
night, and subliminal audios I played to them while they
slept (kidding) - finally is paying off! And my dreams of
them being the youngest marketing protege's on the planet
are quickly coming to fruition.
My point to this is to have some fun, but also to share with
you a point - continual education DOES pay off. It is not
about a single book you read, or a one-time seminar you
attend.
It is all about learning as a way of life.
And then, even more importantly, putting that knowledge into
ACTION. Try some of the things you learn... see how they
work... or they don't work.
The key is to try.
Many people I talk to are so scared of even trying they are
frozen into, what Dan Kennedy loves to say, the "next shiny
object" state.
Every new guru that comes along, they think THEY are the
secret. Or the new ebook that comes out that takes them in a
completely different direction in business, but this time it
will make them a millyun.
They never take action or try things because they flip flop
around from guru to guru, ebook to ebook, seminar to
seminar, and never once do they think they should actually
do something with all that knowledge.
Now is the time.
If you feel stuck and not sure where to turn, pick up just
one of those books sitting on your shelf, read it one more
time - this time though, make an action plan based on what
you read - then DO IT. Follow the plan for the next 14
days... and just see what happens next.
I encourage you to follow your passions and do what you've
always wanted to do - and be the one who IS an action taker
- and not a "shiny object collector".
To your success.

My daughter (she turns 6 on the 20th) loves listening to Dan Kennedy's No BS Cds that come in his monthly newsletter.
Had I found out about direct marketing and mailorder back when she was two, I'd have a couple more zeroes in my income
