I am working with a business person who is VERY resistant to
change in their business.
They typically use very graphically pleasing web sites and
promotions - with little thought to the content or sales
approach they are taking.
They hesitate to ask their clients to pay for things (and
like giving things away).
They have a fabulous group of clients that are very target
ted and very passionate.
And yet, they are barely paying the bills.
So, I explained to her that she needs to "train" her clients
(after all it's in their best interest also) that they need
to pay for products and services to take their own
businesses to the next level.
The best way to train them?
Long copy promotions and more promotions.
What a battle it is to get her to change her mind... but
(slowly but surely) she is coming around. We are doing her
first 2 promotions this week with many more to come.
Are YOU hesitant to try new things?
- Do you stay in constant contact with your clients?
- Do you ask them to invest in more products and services?
- Do you give them good reasons to invest?
- Do you bring your personality to the forefront in your
marketing? - Do you put more emphasis on how "pretty" your promotions are
than on how well the promotions do?
You MUST change things up every once in a while to find out
what works. Your clients like seeing new things, new
promotions and new ideas from you.
If you don't do it - your competitors will.
Get away from doing things they way they've always been
done... try some new approaches. Make sure you measure how
well they do.
If they outperform your old - you got it.
If they don't try something else until you do find something
that outperforms your old ways.
Try it - your bank account might like it!
