Don The Idea Guy

Nice blog entry about the movie -- did you know the idea for the movie came from the director's KID?

The story goes that Robert Rodriguez, director of Spy Kids and the El Mariachi series (among others), asked his son Racer Rodriguez what his next movie should be about, and his son came up with the Shark Boy/Lava Girl idea.

If you check the Internet Movie Database, you can see that Racer even got top-credit for story and screenplay (along with his Dad). http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0424774/

How's that for "Take Your Child To Work Day"?

Hey Don,

I had no idea.

The movie was well done - it actually was quite deep in some spots about using dreams to create reality - surprising for a kids movie.

At the same time, it was great seeing kids being taught such an important lesson about their success.

Good stuff - now I can justify my working from the playhouse!
